Who we are

The Ladysmith Kinsmen Club is a Kin Canada service club dedicated to improving life in our town. Founded on fellowship, service, and leadership, we’ve been working for Ladysmith for generations.

Fellowship

Building lasting friendships through shared work and mutual support. We’re more than a club—we’re neighbours who show up.

Service

Improving Ladysmith through meaningful projects—playgrounds, public facilities, and support for youth and community needs.

Leadership

Growing skills through committee work, project delivery, and community organizing that helps members make a difference.

What we built

Landmark community projects that still serve Ladysmith today—local needs first.

Transfer Beach

Spray park

A popular water play feature at Transfer Beach, built in the centennial era for families and visitors.

Kin Park · National award

Kin Park playground

A major playground build recognized with a national Kin service award (around 2012).

Legacy note: the Town’s 2026 Brown Drive playground replacement continues the spirit of that earlier wooden Kin Park project.

Downtown washrooms

Accessible public washrooms downtown—opened in 2021 and recognized with the BC District Governor’s Service Shield in 2022.

Transfer Beach

Festival of Lights building / shelter

Events

We show up at community celebrations—parades, licensed events, and family fun. Brief highlights below.

Ladysmith Days & Festival of Lights
